Dancer’s Gallery Scholarship
$500 scholarship award for best Dancer’s Gallery Promotional Video
Dancer’s Gallery, a South Florida dance studio is sponsoring a local contest offering a $500 scholarship prize to the student who creates an original and effective video promoting our business.

Deadline: May 30, 2011
Eligibility: The Dancer’s Gallery! Scholarship for 2011 is open only to those students who are sixteen (18) years of age or older at the time of application and who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the spring of 2012) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university or trade school). Current employees, officers, directors and agents of Sponsor and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons residing at the same address are not eligible to win. Void where prohibited.
Length: Video can be up to 2 minutes long
Subject matter: Applicants are encouraged to be creative and use any appealing concept they may choose (e.g. Dance move, origin of dance, dance fusion, marketing a dance studio).
Our goal is to allow all applicants to use any artistic or original approaches that capture the essence of dance by using their imagination.
To enter, simply upload your finished video to YouTube.
All videos will be judged by a panel of professionals selected by Dancer’s Gallery based on 5 criteria: Concept, Originality, Execution, Artistic merit, and Viral potential. The winning applicant will be announced on June 5, 2011
Scholarship Rules and Regulations
- Video should follow the subject matter.
- Video should be no more than 2 minutes long.
- Entries must be uploaded to YouTube.
- Videos will not be considered if they do not meet the requirements or are submitted after the deadline.
- Only one prize will be awarded for the winning video.
- Local media may be contacted regarding the video contest and the winners.
- The winning video may be placed on Dancer’s Gallery’s website and/or used for promotional purposes.
- To qualify, the applicant needs to be currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the spring of 2012) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university or trade school).
- By entering the contest, you grant Dancer’s Gallery a perpetual, royalty-free license to use your video, in any media, for promotional purposes. You grant Dancer’s Gallery permission to edit, modify, format, or adapt your video for Dancer’s Gallery's purposes at Dancer’s Gallery's sole discretion. Except for the $500 prize awarded to the winners of the video contest, no other compensation in any manner will be paid to any entrant of the video contest for the submission to Dancer’s Gallery or Dancer’s Gallery's future use of the video in any manner. If you want to remove your video from the competition, you may do so by requesting Dancer’s Gallery to delete your video from its competition prior to the announcement of the winner on or about June 5, 2011. There is no limit on the number of videos someone may submit.
- Avoid profane language, violence, sex or personal attacks on people or organizations.
- Avoid violating copyright laws or using brand names or logos other than Dancer’s Gallery in your video. You agree to indemnify Dancer’s Gallery for any claim, demand, judgment, or other allegation arising from your possible violation of someone's trademark, copyright, or other legally protected interest in any way in your video. All contest submitters agree not to make any commercial use of those portions of their submissions which use Dancer’s Gallery without prior written approval from Dancer’s Gallery
- Your video may not contain any endorsement, solicitation, commercial, or similar content advocating for or against candidates for office, political issues, or commercial products.
- Your video must be original content for this contest. Do not submit a video that has been submitted elsewhere.
- Obtain release forms for all of the people featured in your video. You must provide Dancer’s Gallery with the forms if requested.
- Be able to provide Dancer’s Gallery with an original video file if you win.
- Videos that are submitted without an entry form will not be judged.
Winner Selection
After the contest closes, videos will be judged to see if they present accurate information and comply with the requirements of the contest. Those videos that do not comply will be disqualified. All other videos will advance to round two where the videos will be rated by a panel of judges from Dancer’s Gallery based on Concept, Originality, Execution, Artistic merit, and Viral potential. Winners will be selected and notified by email or phone on or after June 5, 2011.
Privacy
The personal information you submit on the entry form will only be used to contact you in the event you win the contest or if there is a question or issue regarding your video or its content. We will not disclose, give, sell, or transfer any personal information about you, unless required for law enforcement or by statute. As your video will be made available to the public, you should not include personal information about yourself or anyone else. All information collected on the entry form will be deleted at the conclusion of the contest. Dancer’s Gallery is using YouTube to host the videos for this contest. You are subject to YouTube's use, privacy, cookie, and security provisions also. Those provisions can be viewed at http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/t/privacy.
